That was exactly our experience at Pizzeria Malfi, located on Hurbanovo Square in Bratislava’s historic city centre.

During a lunch with friends, we discovered a place that combines authentic Italian hospitality, quality food and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you forget, even for a moment, that you’re sitting in the middle of a busy capital city.

A Calm Interior That Lets the Food Shine

The interior is elegant without trying too hard.

Natural light, high ceilings and minimalist design create a welcoming space equally suited for a quick business lunch or a long conversation over coffee and wine.

Sometimes simplicity is exactly what creates the best atmosphere.

Small Details Make the Biggest Difference

Before we even ordered, the staff brought a large pitcher of chilled water infused with fresh mint and lime.

On a hot summer day, it was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome.

Throughout the visit, the service remained warm, attentive and genuinely happy to recommend their favourite dishes.

Siciliana – A Taste of the Mediterranean

Following the staff’s recommendation, I chose the Pizza Siciliana.

Mozzarella, capers, black olives and anchovies created a beautifully balanced combination of flavours. The thin crust was perfectly baked, the tomato sauce fresh and the ingredients allowed to speak for themselves.

Everyone at the table enjoyed their pizzas, confirming that consistency is clearly one of Malfi’s strengths.

Another interesting discovery was the difference between pizza and pinsa. Many guests visit Malfi specifically to experience both. The staff are happy to explain how the longer-fermented, lighter pinsa differs from traditional Italian pizza and help you choose according to your taste.

Lasagne Worth Coming Back For

The lasagne were another highlight of our lunch.

Rich meat ragù, creamy béchamel, quality cheese and perfectly baked layers created exactly what homemade Italian lasagne should be.

Judging by everyone’s reactions at the table, they were every bit as memorable as the pizzas.
